Belize has the largest living Barrier Reef in the Western Hemisphere, with world class diving. Belize also boasts the presence of three of the four atolls in the Caribbean of which the famous Blue Hole is a member. Mysterious tropical rainforests feature the Hidden Valley Falls which cascades 1000 feet to the valley below, 3,000 year old archeological Mayan Ruins, exotic wildlife, friendly Howler monkeys and the only Jaguar preserve in the world. Belize is a bird watcher's paradise. Birds such as the Keel-billed Toucan or the Giant 5 Foot Jabiru with its wing span of about 8 feet, form part of the more than 250 species of birds that inhabit Belize. Orchids and Bromelia abound in the rainforest of Belize. |
